An extraordinary duo that combines the rich tradition of Indian classical music with technical brilliance, deep emotion, and captivating musical dialogue.
Lenneke van Staalen (violin) grew up in a family of Western classical musicians and discovered her deep connection to Indian music in New Delhi in 1992. After studying at the Rotterdam Conservatory and pursuing advanced training in Mumbai with Pandit D.K. Datar, she has performed regularly throughout Europe and India, both in traditional Indian classical settings and in collaboration with Western ensembles. In 2003, she graduated with a Master’s degree cum laude and received an award for outstanding performance.
Heiko Dijker (tabla) left the Netherlands at an early age in search of the soul of Indian music. Following years of traditional training within the Guru-Shishya system and a decade of intensive practice, he combines profound rhythmic knowledge with energy and poetic expression. He has accompanied renowned artists such as Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and collaborated with musicians ranging from Shankar Mahadevan to Melissa Etheridge.
Both musicians graduated with distinction from the Rotterdam Conservatory and perform on prestigious stages across India and the West. Their music transcends cultural boundaries, creating moments of intimacy and passion.
