The observatory on the Gurten allows you to gaze into a distant world, far away from the light and noise of the city. Join us on a journey into space on Bern's local mountain.

The observatory offers the general public a detailed insight into physical and other scientific phenomena in space. Public observation evenings take place every Tuesday under the professional guidance of the Astro Events association. In addition, observation evenings are also offered on some Wednesdays during the year. The various celestial events are explained in an understandable manner and can be observed with a telescope.

On Tuesday, 2 sessions of stargazing are offered. The later shift is always accompanied by dinner before stargazing.
You will receive a 3-course menu, mineral water, a star drink to take home and the entrance to the observatory. Gurtners Restaurant is open from 5:30 pm each night.

Program:
Dinner: from 5.30 p.m.
Start: 9.45 p.m.
End: 11.30 p.m.
Last departure of the Gurten funicular: 11.45 p.m.

* In case of bad weather, the alternative program will take place in a seminar room. The meeting point remains the observatory, unless otherwise informed by the service staff.

The event will take place in all weather conditions. The offer does not include the Gurten funicular ticket.

The observatory visits are organized in cooperation with Astro Events and are held in German.
