A SKY FULL OF VIOLINS

Saturday, 15/11/2025 18:00
with Noëlle-Anne Darbellay and Matthias Klenota, violins

Noëlle-Anne Darbellay and Matthias Klenota present a violinistic tableau featuring rare treasures from three centuries, performed on eight different historical and modern violins. Among the highlights is solo violin music from around 1650 from the Bohemian cultural sphere, where playful storytelling merges with art music. As an imaginary echo chamber, the endless forests that still existed when this music was created resonate—forests whose presence is symbolically tied to the violin itself as a "singing tree."

Featuring balletti from the Klagenfurt and Kroměříž manuscripts, as well as works by Georg Philipp Telemann, Jean-Philippe Rameau, and gems of contemporary music.
