The eight-hour journey on the slowest express train in the world takes you across 291 bridges and through 91 tunnels. From St. Moritz, the train snakes its way through the Albula Valley and on through the Rhine Gorge, Switzerland’s very own Grand Canyon. The highest point of the journey for the Glacier Express is the Oberalp Pass at 2,033 metres above sea level. After this, it’s downhill all the way via Andermatt and Fiesch, before the Matterhorn soon comes into view.
