Lake Constance Chamber Music Festival
The Festival Kammermusik Bodensee invites you on an exciting musical journey to European destinations. International musicians interpret diverse works together with the corresponding episodes from the lives of the composers.
The festival offers inspirations, works that we still admire today, to which the composers were inspired by different places while travelling. For example, Johannes Brahms' Third Piano Trio was composed during his stay at Lake Thun, while Mikhail Glinka's "Gran Sestetto Originale" was influenced by his stay in Italy and his visits to La Scala. Paris was the place where Frank Martin was commissioned to compose his "Trio sur des mélodies populares irlandaises" or Gabriele Fauré his piano quartet, but Vienna, Zurich, Berlin, London and Ravenna are also the background to works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Hermann Goetz, Paul Juon and Gioacchino Rossini.
