Target Audience:
Psychologists, cardiologists, pediatricians, and other medical and allied health professions, patients and parents
Workshop Overview: In this workshop, we will focus on the role of Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) in shaping research on congenital heart disease (CHD). CHD patients and parents from different countries will share their experiences, needs, and priorities, offering researchers direct insight into what matters most to families. Together, we will discuss how these perspectives can inform meaningful and relevant research questions and future project development. Participants will engage in collaborative activities to co-design research ideas that address key challenges faced by patients with CHD and their families.
Participants will learn:
- The value of PPIE and why involving CHD families strengthens research.
- Key priorities, concerns, and unmet needs expressed by CHD patients and parents.
- How to integrate lived experiences into early stages of research idea development.
