Mittwoch, 15.04.2026 14:00 Uhr
Target Audience:
Nurses and allied health professions
Content of the workshop:
The workshop will cover the topic of family centered care intervention as an interdisciplinary approach, with a focus on the vulnerability of parents of a child with CHD. An important part of this will be to discuss palliative care as a way of supporting families with complex pediatric cardiac patients. We also identify the challenges faced by families with a heart transplanted child and the support program. Finally, we highlight the nursing role in consulting parents and children from prenatal to transition to adult care, as well as the role of a family centered care nurse in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU).
The participants will learn:
- to understand the value of family centered care in patients with CHD and their families
- how an interprofessional palliative care concept has been established for cardiac patients and their families
- about the importance of caring in the phase of vulnerability of parents with a child with CHD
- Accompaniment of the whole family from prenatal to transition to adult care
