Mittwoch, 15.04.2026 14:00 Uhr
Target Audience:
Psychologists, cardiologists, paediatricians, and other medical and allied health professionals, as well as interested patients and parents who wish to share their perspectives.

Content of the workshop:
In this workshop, we will explore the process of developing and implementing family- and patient-centered interventions, illustrated through a study conducted at the Children’s Hospital Zurich. We will discuss how to initiate such projects, outline practical methods for integrating patients’ and parents’ voices into each step of the research process, and highlight the role and importance of feasibility studies. Throughout the workshop, we will address typical challenges encountered in this process and reflect on lessons learned from our example study. Finally, participants will be encouraged to engage in dialogue, sharing their own experiences and perspectives to collectively broaden insights into participatory intervention development.

The participants will learn:

  • Where and how to begin when developing a family- or patient-centered intervention
  • Qualitative methods and optimal timepoints to meaningfully involve patients and parents in research and intervention design
  • What feasibility studies are and why they are a crucial step in the research and implementation process
  • Common challenges when designing and implementing participatory interventions, illustrated through one study example
  • Insights and practical takeaways through shared discussion with other participants
