In the southernmost village north of the Alps, all sorts of colourful characters and ghosts are on the prowl. Around a hundred years ago, Georg Küffer, the future founder of the Volkshochschule Bern, was working as a young teacher at Lenk. Fascinated by folklore, he visited house after house and was told the legends of the village. In 1916, this collection was published in book form for the first time. A century later, in 2016, these captivating stories are being republished, slightly revised and illustrated with humour by Ted Scapa.
