We willingly climb through the wiry, wild, and vibrant foliage of new technologies with support from adventurous artists, mediators, and area experts. Our brand-new NFT shop, HEK.editions, and KryptoBrunch workshops have acted as the launching pad into this new era of experimentation with blockchain technology. Now we are taking it a step further: HEK is proudly leading the way as the first museum to adopt tokenized membership and, within this context, launching our very own decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) called “Friends of HEK”.

Tokenized membership is simply a digital membership card that is hosted on the blockchain, allowing for secure, verifiable ownership and unique opportunities for engagement. You can either buy the HEK token with your crypto-wallet or without one, so nobody is left behind.

The HEK tokens are valid for one calendar year and cost 0.05 ETH. The price in CHF is adjusted monthly according to the ETH exchange rate.

HEK is committed to making Friends of HEK accessible to as many people as possible. If you’re not comfortable with using a cryptocurrency wallet, you can purchase a membership token with CHF on the regular HEK website. This means that HEK will hold your membership token on your behalf as you’ll need it later on for voting and other Friends of HEK events. If you change your mind, and would like to take custody of your token (hold it in your own cryptocurrency wallet), contact us and we can help.

Ready to purchase your Friends of HEK membership token? You will need to have a Discord account so be sure to sign up for that first. Note that the account is required, and you can’t purchase the token without one.

Once you have purchased a membership token, you will need to join the public World of HEK Discord server. Access to the exclusive Friends of HEK channels will follow shortly, but sometimes the process takes a few minutes. Get in touch if it’s been more than 30 minutes and you still can’t see the Friends of HEK channels in Discord.

By owning a membership token, you are granted participation in HEK’s DAO “Friends of HEK”, access to exclusive online events, and free exhibition entry. It’s all about participating, having your voice heard, and making collective decisions.
