A tree, a patch of shade, a strip of soil: in the climate crisis, these can make a real difference. Plants cool our cities, hold water, create habitats and make room for people to gather, rest and breathe. In this walk, Stefanie Rohrer, Head of Events at HGK Basel, introduces the Greening the Campus project together with Hans Vollmer, landscape architect at Bryum and one of the experts behind the planting concept. We look at what is growing on the Freilager site, why certain plants were chosen and how green spaces can become infrastructures of care in urban life.
