Silk from Switzerland? Is that even a thing? Yes, indeed—since 2009, innovative Swiss farmers have been raising silkworms on their farms to establish a new line of business. Long-established companies in the Swiss textile industry process the silk into high-quality products, which are sold at OF GOODS, among other places.

During this in-depth tour of the Swiss Silk factory, participants will gain fascinating insights into the history of silk in Switzerland as well as the processing of this valuable natural material. In the production area, experts will demonstrate step by step how silk threads are created from cocoons.

An event for anyone who would like to learn more about traditional craftsmanship, regional production, and the manufacturing of this fine textile raw material.
