Who remembers the fantastic collage that once adorned the construction site of the Kaiserhaus? This imaginative installation was created by designer Annina Arter, who was commissioned by the SNB for this “art in architecture” project. 

Drawing inspiration from the façade design—which has since disappeared—participants will create their own surreal visual worlds under Annina Arter’s guidance, populated by fantastical plants and unusual creatures. A strawberry as big as a house, a bean as a sleeping bag, a leaf as a roof, a tree that stares back at you with big eyes...

Using scissors, paper, and imagination, participants create personal gardens as individual works of art to take home. No prior experience is necessary. All you need is a little courage to glue.

Annina Arter works as an independent print designer in Zurich and was awarded the Swiss Design Prize in 2024.
