Pop, rock and film music on three cellos

Warm, powerful and surprisingly versatile: The Cellists demonstrate just how much sound can be produced by a single instrument. With pop, rock and film music, they create a unique concert experience right by the rock face.

Driven by a shared passion for their instrument, the six cellists of the argovia philharmonic founded the ensemble The Cellists in 2016. Today, they perform mainly as a trio or quartet.

The cello ranges from deep bass to high registers and is often compared to the human voice. When several cellos play together, they produce a warm, full sound – at times delicate and moving, at others powerful and almost like a small orchestra.

The ensemble knows no stylistic boundaries: pop, rock and well-known film scores take on a character all of their own when played by the cellos together. Where arrangements for multiple cellos do not yet exist, The Cellists create them themselves. On this evening, Martin Merker, Regula Schüpbach and Yoon-Jeong Woo will be performing as The Cellists.

Live, this special sound meets the unique setting right by the rock face. The concert is deliberately being held on a small scale – an atmospheric evening for anyone who wants to experience music in a different way.

The meal will be served at long tables in the Stein & Sein restaurant. Due to space constraints, we cannot guarantee tables for two or four.

Important information
The concert is a seated event and takes place outdoors at the prevailing outside temperature. The concert venue is situated directly against the rock face and is sheltered from the rain.

Concert-goers only
The concert can also be booked without a prior meal. No catering facilities are available for concert-goers who do not have a set menu.
